A 31 year old married woman with 2 children, had breast implants carried ouy 4 years previously using an armpit incision and textured surface, round, high profile, 230 ccs silicone gel breast implants. However, the implants were placed too high and there was moderate capsular contracture.
Revision mammaplasty was undertaken using infra-areolar incisions to expand the space for the new implants at the inner sides and lower breast areas. Some previously inserted capsules were removed and some were left. Both nipples were reduced at the same time. Drain tubes were in place for 3 days due to fluid collection.
The patient was very pleased with the final breast contours and she was taught to do breast massage every day for 6 months. Post operative photos were taken 3 weeks after surgery.
